Today was spent dealing with life and things and death and eternity. Today, folks, I'm tired. Today I was up past 4Am helping to deal with my mother's return to the hospital. Today I discovered that my mother is afraid to die.
I couldn't watch all the video for some reason. It stopped about half way through.
You ask good questions. I think many people ask the same question in different ways. Where will I end up? How can I be sure?
Maybe your Mama was sure but staring death in the face has a certain finality to it. No second chances. No do overs. Just here and now. She probably sees her here and now quickly dwindling.
You can only ever be sure that YOU are saved. That YOU seek God. As for any other person, only they know where they are now and will be after death.
Your kids? We all get comfortable. That's when God steps in and shakes things up. A death, a birth, a tragedy, a miracle...something to bring change in our lives. We need to always be thankful that HE cares for us so much to keep after us. To pursue our hearts. To jealously want us for Him and Him alone. To guide us toward what is best for us.
To even experience that kind of love in an earthly way is rare.
Keep on loving. Keep on singing praises in your heart. Shine! (Matthew 5:16)
